Hi, i'm Victoria Tkachenko.
I started my journey into social media world in 2017. Right now I am a passionate SMM and Digital Marketing enthusiast, working with content creation for such platforms as Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok.
My big passion is non-formal education and activism. I stand for women rights, for sexual and national minorities rights. Since 2017 I am a youth worker in NGO "Young Folks LV" in Riga, Latvia. As a youth worker, I have been organizing events, managing international and local projects, creating content for social media and completing my role as a photographer. Since 2021 I organize lecture cycle "Sex Ed" which provides knowledge on sexual education for Latvian teenagers, youngsters and their parents.
In 2022 I graduated from the University of Latvia with a Master's degree in Communication science and Media (Mg. sc. com.). My master thesis "Narratives of Russian-speaking youth of the Latvian LGBT community: dual minorities" provided valuable insights on the lives of marginalized communities in Latvia and was presented at the 80th International Conference of the University of Latvia.
I am working in different fields, but mostly I am passionate about social media, managing creative/social projects, non-formal education and photography (read more in CV section).

Since 2021 I am the main coordinator and organizer of the lecture cycle "Sex Ed" in NGO Young Folks LV. SexEd 3.0 is a series of events for teenagers and young people in Latvia, organised for the third time by the youth organisation Young Folks LV. The project includes lectures, online seminars and discussions on sexuality education. Learn more: https://youngfolks.lv/sexed3
In 2022 I took part in the programme "Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs" and spent 5 months in Spain, volunteering in NGO Globers. I learned not only about culture, language and local community, but also about co-living, recycling, sharing, risking and improvising, about logistics and planning the budget, about taking the initiative, traveling, meeting a lot of new people and networking.
In 2022 I became an ambassador of the campaign #acisvaļā hosted by the European Comission in Latvia. During 4 months I was creating educational content about EU funded projects, as well as took part in 2 TV interviews and promoted the campaign on my profiles in Facebook and Instagram.
I had a great opportunity to become one of 2000 speakers on a discussion festival LAMPA 2019 to share amazing experiences. During workshop, I shared information about Erasmus+ and opportunities for youngsters in Latvia.
In 2020 I organized my own online discussion about non-formal education in Latvia. Together with teacher, parent and youth workers we discussed the future of education in Latvia.
In February 2021 I won the IREX small grant for my individual project and during 5 months have created an educational project about media literacy for youngsters in Latvia. On my own I have made a research, written a script, filmed and edited three videos. Videos are available via link: ej.uz/medialit
Later, in October I became one of the speakers at the UNESCO Global Media literacy Week 2021, and hosted 2 lectures for youngsters, as well as was a guest lecturer at Media Lab online media literacy challenge.
As a second-year student, I did 2 social media projects. One about Zero Waste in Latvia and second was dedicated to showing Riga as an ideal city for Erasmus exchange students. Both of campaigns went viral and received a lot of positive feedback and social awareness.

In 2019 I created a project "Young Folks Runners", which mission is to motivate young people run on a regular basis, promote healthy lifestyle and create a community of like-minded people.
It all started with 3 people, who were keen on running, and right now we have a chat with more than 40 participants, who run daily and share their pictures with others.
Together we run in different districts of Riga, even abroad and make running races for everyone in the city centre. I am very proud to be a part of this amazing project and hope to develop it in the future.
